What a Finish

Week 16 had a wild finish. The starters for Indianapolis were all benched in the 3rd quarter, thereby allowing the New York Jets to win. The road to perfection for Indianapolis has come to an end, but more importantly for NY it keeps their playoff hopes alive. The week culminated in Minnesota falling in overtime to Chicago, thereby losing their shot at the number 1 seed.

The playoff picture for the AFC cleared up a little bit this week, but not much. Because of all the losses, Jacksonville still has an outside shot, but they're not in control of their own destiny at thsi point. But the important team here is Houston. I was of the thinking that a New York Jets win would eliminate Houston, but I was wrong. Houston still has an outside shot, but they will need to win in Week 17 and will need losses by a couple of other teams in front of them. I forget the scenarios, but they showed them for each team yesterday on Game Day Final. Houston has a real shot at winning this Sunday as New England has not played well on the road all season and may rest their starters as they've clinched the AFC East (thanks to Houston). The playoff teams in the NFC have all been set, the only thing really left to play for at this point is to determine who clinches the NFC East.

As far as the Week 16 picks go, Mardi sent me an email giving me the decision on how to handle it. I've decided that I win this week 1-0. Admittedly I've been slacking on keeping up with the score, but I will have it updated and posted when I make my Week 17 predictions. I know it's close between us, though.
