Your 19th nervous breakdown? Maybe, since what is coming has been known to cause a lot of rifts between people. What is coming is a brand new season of NFL Football. Yes, ladies and gentleman, it's time for another season of smash mouth gridiron fun, complete with the most ruthlessly efficient marketing machine in the world. We just can't seem to get enough.
I'm Rick, the Texan half of the Texan vs. Viking team. You may know me from such blogs as Primordial Light and Musical Discovery Project. I was born in Minneapolis but hail from Houston, TX, where my football team is on the verge of a breakout season. The other half of the team, Mardi, should be along any time now to introduce herself.
First off, congratulations on the Vikings winning their preseason opener versus the Colts. Although this is no indication of what will happen starting week 1 of the regular season, I must still give them their kudos.
The concept is simple. Each week Mardi and I will make our win-loss predictions for the entire week's schedule. In the event of a tie, we will use the point differential from the Monday night game to break the tie. This is a friendly competition between 2 non-pundit types who happen to love football but not necessarily the same team.
In between Sundays we will offer our own little insights and maybe even trade jabs at each others teams. It should be fun.
Comments are welcome and encouraged... but keep in mind this is a family blog.
Welcome to Texan vs. Viking!

Hail to all I am Mardi the northern half of this team. I am also the other half of the team in Musical Discovery Project. I was born and raised in Minnesota, been here my entire life. Given that bit of information it's not hard to see why I am the Viking in this match up.
ReplyDeleteI also must give props to my Vikes, 13-3 is a nice preseason start. Of course this sets us up beautifully for week 1. I guess we will have to wait and see how those Texans begin.
While there will definitely be some jabs and pokes at the opposing team this is all in fun. As Rick stated feel free to comment but keep it fun.
Thanks for reading and Let's Go Vikes!!
